Learning Disguised as Vacation…

Any time can be learning time for Tornado Boy! We spent a long weekend in the “Whole Wide World” part of our classroom. We had so much fun!

Figuring out how big a Monster Truck really is...

Observing a wild mare and her foal...

Observing wild horses strolling up the beach...

Flying a kite with Daddy

Watching a sand crab dig out his house...

Learning to play paddle ball..

Learning to play beach paddle ball...

Getting to touch a sea urchin, then starfish and stingray...

Listening to a lesson on sea turtles...

Just getting to spend time with Mommy & Daddy...

I really do love that learning is just such a natural extension of our every day life. Tornado Boy is very open to having his lessons take place anywhere and I think that’s such a great thing for us. We had a great time at the beach.

    Chincoteague?
That’s the best type of learning, by the way. And oh my goodness is that truck HUGE!

    • Ticia – most of the pictures were taken in Corolla on the most northern coast of North Carolina – you can only get there by driving on the beach, so it’s such a wonderful, natural place. We were so lucky to get to see the wild horses – I love to watch them.

Breathtaking! This type of learning stays with you for the rest of your life….the sit down and memorize facts, well, it’s forgotten right after the test. We need more whole wide world days!
